

Experience : Two to five (2-5) years of experience in the field of law enforcement, security operations, or a related field is required.Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Remains keenly alert at all times, alerting all employees, patients, and others to possible threats or situations requiring immediate attention.While these situations are unusual and at times unpredictable, our security staff should be prepared to remain on site. Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require security staff to remain at the hospital in order to ensure the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and hospital operations are uninterrupted.Maintains a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, staff, and vendors.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.Assists in maintaining regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulations.Assists with the operation of security systems: CCTV, access control, and incident reporting.Manage access control at various entrances by ensuring all staff, patients, visitors, and vendors are authorized to gain entry for business/service purposes.Successfully completes hospital and department specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements in a timely manner.Must be able to respond quickly to all areas of the hospital.Follows appropriate investigative procedures. Documents incident reports in an accurate and timely manner.Supports all fire/life safety/emergency management drills and education initiatives.

Reports all safety and fire hazards, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances, and reports all incidents to supervisor.Serves as a member of the emergency response team and responds to codes appropriately.Maintains current information in daily activity reports/logs, incident reports, lost and found logs, etc.Assists with inquiries made by patients, visitors, or other employees. Ensures only authorized persons are admitted onto hospital property.Assists hospital staff in de-escalation of tense situations and responds immediately to support the safety of staff.Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.Secures, locks, and protects hospital buildings and grounds.Diligently reports any suspicious activity and investigates accidents, incidents, and criminal acts. Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism.Immediately contacts local police prior to any physical altercations. Deescalates all potentially tense situations.
